When a wedding seems woven together by nothing but magic, I feel the fairytale come to life. This timeless September day felt like it was pulled right out of one of those storybooks just as fresh for every new generation. Every detail ditched the trends of today for classic elegance – and the result is just stunning.
Kate and Carson’s romance oozes timelessness, so it’s fitting that their wedding day completely mirrored their elegant love story. From Kate’s bridal fashion (I mean, from head to toe, this look will never look dated!) to the classic ballroom, their wedding day was clearly inspired by the Lilleys’ unique love.
I was moved by the emotion behind the day. As a soon-to-be girl momma, catching a glimpse of Kate’s teary-eyed mom or the sweet, beaming smile that her dad wore when seeing her made me tear up myself. These two learned love from the best examples.
While Hawthorne House has a beautiful chapel for ceremonies, Kate and Carson opted for an outdoor ceremony in front of the gazebo on the lawn. It couldn’t have been a better day for an outdoor affair! It was perfectly timed during golden hour, creating a dreamy setting for the timeless, storybook wedding.
This timeless-elegance celebration is proof simple doesn’t mean small. From bouquets to table statements, the florals consisted only of white hydrangeas, carrying a certain air of elegance throughout the day. The contrast of black statements against the soft white venue and details set off the neutral setting perfectly! My favorite details of the day were the tall floral arrangements that emphasized the unique floor plan. Kate envisioned a large dance floor in the middle of the room, instead of the usual layout. We used long, rectangle tables on three sides to create a crisp, clean dance floor outline.
The Lilleys were surrounded by the most supportive friends and family from the beginning of the day to the end. We planned a private cocktail hour for the bridal party and the couple on the balcony while guests attended the large cocktail hour outside. These sweet moments allowed the couple to celebrate their new marriage without nerves, surrounded by those who know them best. It was the perfect break in the day for the two and perfect addition to the wedding day timeline!
Kate and Carson are truly a treasure, and it’s no wonder their love story brought them here – they are perfect for each other! Lilleys, I hope you never stop celebrating your beautiful marriage. Pop the champagne at every occasion and remember this sweet moment – we sure will.
