Carleigh and Zach’s Romantic Villa Wedding

Carleigh and Zach’s romantic wedding at La Villa was best described as a breath of fresh air. We love orchestrating intimate weddings, because it allows  even more intentionality in both design and guest experience.

The way the wedding’s design worked with the natural architecture made us feel like we were composing a destination wedding right here in our backyard. Delicate details stole the show and allowed Carleigh and Zach’s love for each other to shine through radiantly.

The day at La Villa began with one of the dreamiest first looks we’ve experienced. Natural light poured into the beautifully adorned archway foyer as Zach patiently waited to see Carleigh. Since we were in the ceremony space, the DJ was able to set the mood with music while the scene played out. It was like watching a live taping of a Nicholas Sparks movie.

One of our favorite things about the day was the joy Carleigh and Zach’s sweet son brought to the wedding prep. He stole all the ladies’ hearts in the bridal suite, and his grandmothers kept him happy while he waited to be with mom and dad. When they finally got to spend some time together for photos, the love between the couple seemed to triple.

The Ceremony

La Villa is the perfect venue to transport wedding guests to a different world without leaving our city. As Carleigh and Zach’s wedding guests entered the space reminiscent of Seville Spanish architecture, a feeling of European romance took over. Climbing greenery on both the beginning of the aisle and the altar was the perfect touch.

Between the ceremony and reception, cocktail hour was held on the patio. La Villa‘s patio was the perfect space to entertain an intimate guest count during the room flip and photos.

The Reception

The earthy green tones were carried through the reception, complete with ever-flowing greenery garland and assorted water goblets. White-on-white table linens allowed the green elements and romantic candles to almost pop off the tables.

We decided to get creative with the layout to allow the sweetheart table to shine. Set up in front of the arches, it became the focal point of the reception. Setting the dance floor at the back of the room and in front of the sweetheart table allowed for more natural flow and gorgeous pictures from both directions.

It was so fun to orchestrate a Mizzou wedding! Not only did Carleigh, Zach and I share the alma mater, but it just so happens Carleigh and I both graduated from Mizzou’s School of Journalism just a few years apart. It was a pleasant surprise to see some familiar faces and even catch up with an old friend from my freshman dorm – has it really been nearly eight years?!

This beautiful union was truly one of a kind. The love between Carleigh and Zach and their little family was a heart-warming reminder of why we do what we do, and it’s so easy to draw inspiration from their love story. Cheers to the newlyweds! We can’t wait to watch the rest of your story unfold.
